Love my new Viper system! Works great I would Highly recommend Viper product with professional installation! Now two months later and Winter it gets used twice a day. It was installed in Nov by a DEI approved dealer. I wanted it highly personalized. It took some force and a few trips back to the dealer to get the settings and hardware all as close to what I wanted as they could be.
Mine is a Viper and they have Python and AutoMate on the shelf in the store. All are DEI products I emailed the owner and all future requests got whatever it took to get worked out even if it meant me and them calling tech support. The Viper support number for consumers is not answered by as highly familiar tech support as the installers have access to.
Now for the details. The extremely bright theft deterrent light that blinks from the antenna can be disabled. The install tech found that out after one of the calls to their level of support access. He said it was a little pink wire that could be cut. It was far too bright. There is little chance the remote will start the car from inside a factory. Mine does not from much closer than a mile away. It does do quite well when outside pointed at the sky all the way from behind the building at about feet that way.
Sometimes it takes couple attempts. It will not work through a non line of sight window at near the same distance. There is no way to check if it is still running during a cycle when the car is out of sight. If you hit the start button again you have to listen to weather its playing the descending stop tune or the ascending start tune. I do wish you could choose the run cycle length without going to the dealer.
They can program the runtime you prefer but it will get lost during a reset. To reset a Viper car alarm, use the key fob by pointing it at the vehicle. Wait for the alarm to sound for six seconds, and then press the lock button on the key. A Viper car alarm system has many features, including the ability to arm your vehicle either actively or passively. It also features a High Security Disarm which allows a triggered alarm to be silenced without disarming the vehicle.

When the alarm is going off, allow it to do so for 6 seconds. Then point the key fob at the vehicle, and press the lock button. This will reset the alarm while still leaving the car armed. If the above method does not work, put the key in the ignition, and turn it forward all the way just before cranking. Hold this button until the LED light is solid and the siren chirps once.
This should reset the alarm. Some consumers, however, have had issues with the alarm system after replacing a battery. Contact Viper customer service if the above methods do not work.
Home World View. The other day my viper pager ran out of power so I changed the battery. Right after I changed the battery I went to test the remote to assure it was corresponding to the alarm; it was not. Needless to say, I pressed every button on the remote hoping something would happen, but nothing.
Viper Remote Instructions
I wasn't at my house so I attempted everything, I even unlocked the car with my key and tried to start up my car, but that didn't work either. The alarm was terribly annoying and gave me a headache, so I just got a ride and went to retrieve my other pager. Now I only have one responsive pager and I don't want to run the risk of having that one lost or broken.
I've tried to press the lock button several times to "code hop" but that has failed. If anyone has any practice with alarms or has had a similar experience a little help will be greatly appreciated. Update: I attempted the instructions and it somewhat worked. I still cannot unlock or lock my car with the screen remote, I can only watch the lock icon change.
In other words, if I use my secondary remote, the main remote will receive the change. Is there a problem with the remote, or do I have to reprogram it using another method? I'll give you a choice - you can use the instructions posted to Yahoo Answers, or the ones on ehow.
Press any button on your car remote while you are holding the "Program" switch and release both buttons. Press the "Program" switch on the Viper alarm's transmitter once more and release it.
Remove the key from the ignition and press a button on your Viper remote control to see if the programming worked. Update: Update: I attempted the instructions and it somewhat worked.
